Privacy

• No account, ever. You can play every part of this game without telling us who you are.
• Saves live in your browser. Lives, history, codex entries, and playtest timings are stored locally on your device. Clearing your browser data deletes them; we never see them.
• No third-party trackers, no ads. Product analytics are first-party, cookieless and anonymous — your browser talks only to this site, which forwards counts to PostHog in the EU. They count runs, not people: no profile is built. Along with each count go the page, the site that linked you here, any campaign tag in the link, your browser type, and your IP address. PostHog uses the address to estimate an approximate location (down to city level) and to screen out bots, then discards it; it is never stored.
• The newsletter is opt-in, and for adults. If you type your email into the signup box, we add it to the Wealthy Parrot newsletter — that is run on Ghost, hosted in the EU by Magic Pages — tagged so we know it came from the game. We use it to send the newsletter and nothing else. Every issue has an unsubscribe link, and you can ask us to delete your address entirely.
• Asking for your report by email.If you ask us to email a life’s report, your address and that run’s seed and decisions go to our server, which rebuilds the report and sends it through Amazon SES in Frankfurt. The email is not stored after it is sent: we keep no copy, and neither does the sending service. We do not keep your address unless you also choose to subscribe: the report is sent and forgotten here.
• Where the game runs. The site is hosted on Render in Frankfurt. Your decisions only reach it if you ask for a report by email; otherwise the whole simulation runs in your browser and the server sees page requests, not lives.
• Classrooms: with classroom mode on, signup forms, sharing, and analytics are removed entirely.
• Share linkscontain the game seed — the random world you played — and that life’s results: its score, age, percentile, final net worth and the decision that mattered most, so the link can show them. Never anything about you: no name, no email address, no device ID.
